Great experience, awesome places to bring kids, as there is all kind of activities and accommodations for them. The creek running through the property is SO refreshing to dip into the swimming holes, and there are ankle-deep areas perfect for the tykes! It's also a great jumping-off point for back-packing the region and is a welcome sight when returning from a few nights out in the wilderness (parking for Smith Lake and all the other trails is an 1/8th mile away). We were treated like royalty by Sara at the desk and Bret the owner, and ate, drank, and slept in fine comfort- upgraded from lodge to cabin at no charge and took the difference and tipped the staff- they deserved it. Highly recommend, and I don't put out false reviews...check out my other ones here, on Yelp, and Trip Advisor.

Absolutely love this lodge! My family has been coming up here for over 20 years and it has become my favorite place in the world (I mean this very literally, it is my favorite place ever). The lodge is animal and kid friendly while still being a quiet and serene getaway. There is a great game room and basketball hoop for kids, and a peaceful stream and bar for the adults. There are multiple hikes straight out of the lodge and it is a short drive to many other gorgeous hikes and lakes. The staff is always in a great mood and you can tell they love their job! The food is PHENOMENAL and the rooms are always clean and cozy. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Such an amazing place!

We go here for happy hour pretty often and it’s so amazing! Megan the bartender is so wonderful and makes the best drinks. The bar menu is incredible—legit the best French fries in Plumas County, and the caramelized onion/mushroom pizza is so good. Haven’t eaten dinner there in a while but we know the chef and her work is incredible. Don’t miss this place!

This was my first cabin in the woods adventure. The first view of the property is breathtaking. Nestled down a short winding road, you feel as though you've entered another world. The staff were friendly and helpful, we got checked into our stand alone one room cabin right away. The cabin was super cute and rustic but very comfortable with cozy blankets on the bed and extra pillows. There is a crystal clear creek running through the property that you can wade in and if you follow the trail to the end of the property there is a stunning waterfall. This place is truly a gem! And the food! The first night we had the Prime Rib and flank steak entrees. It was a good size portion and normally I don't eat a large serving of meat but it was so good, I gobbled it up. They also have a nice selection of wines available. If you're looking for a place that makes you feel special, then this is the whole package.

Had short rib with Demi-glacé, salmon with potatoes and fennel and a cabbage merlot cream soup that was so good that I asked for another cup. Our meal was excellent and comparable to any meal we have had in the best restaurants in LA, NYC etc. We have high standards and everything was perfectly executed and delicious. Would go back just for the restaurant.

THE place to wind down. Cute cabins. The cabins have no TV, no phones, and no WiFi. The lodge has all those things. Makes you relax. The food is exceptional. Stable breakfast cooked to order. The dinner is to die for. I have never had a bad meal. The owners are friendly and accommodating. Don't forget to have a cocktail you will remember and want another one. Usually have to make reservations about a year in advance, that's how good it is.

Good food. The carrot soup was one of the best items we had! Be prepared for families with kids from the camp. Doesn't detract from the food, but might not be the most romantic ambiance.
